The 1.8-mile road extension provides a connection between the Parks Highway and Knik-Goose Bay Road. Phase 2 continued across Knik-Goose Bay Road with a realignment of Clapp Street and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities’ Fairview Loop to create a new, signalized intersection at Kink-Goose Bay Road. HDL used Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities design standards in anticipation of State participation. The project team worked seamlessly with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities functional groups, the City of Wasilla, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and local property owners to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
