HDL was responsible for the evaluation and development of a concept design and final design for upgrades to the existing Kake Tribal Fuel Corporation tank farm and Inside Passage Electric Cooperative power plant. Preliminary research, community collaboration, and a detailed site investigation identified code deficiencies, maintenance problems, and environmental liabilities with the existing tank farm. A site investigation summary report was prepared outlining individual components, condition, and maintenance history of the existing facility.
The new design consisted of gravel pads, lined concrete containment dike, truckfill shelter, horizontal fuel tanks; power plant module; pumps and appurtenances; contained distribution pipeline; vehicle dispenser and marine header.
