Photo of Doug Simon Doug manages the Geotechnical Services Department. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and has 17 years of geotechnical engineering, mining, and hydrogeology. His experience includes subsurface characterization for geotechnical and environmental projects including roadways, drainage design, utility construction including water and wastewater, dam inspections, geotechnical design of shallow and deep foundations, geotechnical instrumentation, groundwater evaluations and monitoring. Doug enjoys the hydrogeology challenges that are integral to many geotechnical and civil design projects. He is proficient with groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling for construction, environmental and well location projects. Doug leads the Anchorage ASCE Community Engineering Corps providing volunteer engineering expertise on community infrastructure projects.
